12 Ways to Invest in Yourself in the New Year
There are 12 days of Christmas, right? One for each day. See? There was some logic.
Here we go:
1/ @eightsleep
Sleep might be the most important thing you do for your health every day. Eight Sleep not only provides all the sleep stats you need... It also automatically raises & lowers the temperature of your bed to keep you sleeping. Game changer!

2/ @AthleticBrewing
The non-alcoholic beer market is exploding. Fitness-focused consumers are tired of hangovers. Fortunately, great tasting N/A craft brews have kicked O'Doul's to the curb. Athletic is #1 in this space.

3/ @hubermanlab podcast
They say you get what you pay for, but that's not always true.
The cost to listen: FREE
The education in all things health and wellness: PRICELESS
What @hubermanlab is doing with this show is a public service. Don't miss it.
4/ @Headspace
Countless studies have shown that meditation is an effective way to improve everything from decision-making to impulse control, to overall well-being.
You don't NEED an app. But Headspace is pretty damn good if you want to try one.
5/ @CarbManagerApp
What gets measured gets done. If you're looking to change your diet, you need to measure what's going in. Micros, macros, & thousands of foods already in their library. Just scan the barcode and you're good.
1-year premium: $29.99
6/ Push-ups!
I mean I have to include this, right? 31 days. 100 push-ups per day. Time yourself & try to get faster. That's it. Try it. For free. Just don't flare your elbows like ~1000 people pointed out I do!
7/ @whoop
Quite possibly the best fitness tracker on the market. I understand more about my sleep & the daily condition of my body than ever because of it.
Warning: The recovery score is addictive.

8/ @gravityblankets
Nothing like a 15 lb. blanket holding you down to settle the nerves, am I right? I don't claim to know the science here or anything about inducing "womb-like" states. I'm just going with: It works.
9/ @onepeloton
It's been a rough year for Peloton. Don't ask me where I bought the stock. Sore subject. But their fitness content is still unrivaled.
Note: If someone wants to buy me the new Peloton Row, I might not say no.
10/ @AthleticGreens
AG1 has been a staple in my routine for over a year. I think of it as a one-stop shop for nutritional insurance. Pre-biotics, Pro-biotics + all essential vitamins and nutrients in one tasty (I think) green drink per day.
Get a 1-year supply of Vitamin D3+K2 & 5 free travel packs of AG1
And don’t miss my conversation with Kat Cole if you want to learn all about AG1.
11/ Intentional Wisdom podcast
Shameless plug but I think you should listen to hear about the habits, routines & motivation driving successful people from the worlds fitness to business and beyond.
Cost: Free
Benefit: (Hopefully) substantial
12/ Books!
An investment in knowledge is exactly that, an investment. As much as I love self-help, this year I've really rediscovered the benefits of reading history and narrative non-fiction before bed. Great way to calm the mind. Some favorites:

Podcast: Shane Battier - The No Stats All-Star (Invest Like the Best)
Just one piece of content I wanted to share with you today. It’s a really fantastic conversation with former Duke University standout and 14-year NBA player, Shane Battier. He’s been labeled “the no stats All-star” because every team he’s been on has won, yet his personal stats have never been great. Battier is known for “intangibles” but in an age of big data and Moneyball analytics, those intangibles have become more quantifiable and replicable. This conversation is a masterclass in leadership and why some teams win and others don’t. I highly recommend this for anyone who is: a) a coach, b) a leader, or c) a member of a team… in other words, just about everyone.
🎅❄️🎅❄️ And that's it!
Remember, don't be afraid to splurge a little on yourself this holiday season.
You deserve it.
And investing in yourself is ultimately much more rewarding than getting an ugly sweater anyhow, right?
I appreciate you reading and hope you enjoy the holiday season!
